Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Transparency Statement

Yumen Global Furniture

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Yumen Global Furniture has taken during the financial year ending 31st December 2024 to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.

Our Business

Yumen Global Furniture is a commercial furniture platform that facilitates the distribution of high-quality furniture manufactured in South East Asia to buyers around the world, including hospitality groups, interior designers, retailers, and developers. We connect factories directly with global buyers to ensure value, quality, and transparency across the supply chain.

Our Commitment

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our own operations or in any part of our supply chain.

Supply Chains

Our supply chain includes furniture manufacturers, logistics providers, and third-party service providers, primarily based in South East Asia. We acknowledge the risks associated with these regions and actively work to mitigate them by:

  • Partnering only with reputable factories and suppliers who share our commitment to ethical labour practices.
  • Requesting transparency in recruitment and employment policies from all our manufacturing partners.
  • Ensuring contractual terms include adherence to anti-slavery and human trafficking obligations.

Due Diligence

To assess and manage risk in our supply chains, we have introduced the following due diligence procedures:

  • Conducting background checks and factory audits prior to onboarding new suppliers.
  • Requiring suppliers to complete a Supplier Code of Conduct that includes a commitment to human rights and fair labour standards.
  • Monitoring ongoing relationships through regular reviews and communications.

Policies

We have the following internal policies in place to support our stance against modern slavery:

  • Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy – setting out our zero-tolerance approach and reporting process.
  • Whistleblowing Policy – encouraging employees and partners to report concerns without fear of retaliation.
  • Ethical Sourcing Policy – promoting responsible procurement and supply chain transparency.

Training and Awareness

We ensure that our staff, especially those involved in procurement and supplier management, receive training to:

  • Recognise the signs of modern slavery.
  • Understand our policies and reporting procedures.
  • Know how to engage suppliers on ethical compliance.

Effectiveness and Performance Indicators

We measure the effectiveness of our anti-slavery efforts by tracking:

  • Supplier audits and risk assessments completed.
  • Reports or incidents raised via our whistleblowing channels.
  • Number of suppliers signed to our Code of Conduct.

To date, no instances of modern slavery or human trafficking have been identified within our operations or supply chain.

Looking Ahead

In 2025 and beyond, we aim to:

  • Strengthen supplier compliance monitoring.
  • Expand training to include all external agents and partners.
  • Partner with third-party verification bodies for supplier audits.
