Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Transparency
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Transparency Statement
This statement is made under section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It explains the steps Yumen Global Furniture has taken during the financial year ending 31 December 2024 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains
Our Business and Commitment
Yumen Global Furniture works with furniture manufacturers in Southeast Asia and supplies high-quality contract furniture to global buyers, including hospitality groups, designers, retailers, and developers. We act ethically in all business activities and expect the same from our partners.
However, ethical responsibility requires continuous action. Therefore, Yumen Global Furniture reviews its processes regularly to identify potential risks. In addition, we communicate expectations clearly with all partners. As a result, suppliers understand their responsibilities within our supply chain.
Moreover, transparency supports accountability across operations. For this reason, we document policies and review supplier performance. Ultimately, this approach helps us maintain high ethical standards while supporting responsible sourcing.
Supply Chain and Ethical Expectations
Our supply chain includes furniture manufacturers, logistics providers, and service partners based mainly in Southeast Asia. We recognise that risks can exist in global supply chains. To manage these risks, we:
Partner only with reputable factories and suppliers who share our commitment to ethical labour practices.
Request transparency in recruitment and employment policies from all manufacturing partners.
Ensure contractual terms include commitments to anti-slavery and anti-human-trafficking obligations.
Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
To assess and manage risk, we:
Conduct background checks and factory audits before onboarding new suppliers.
Require suppliers to sign a Supplier Code of Conduct that includes human rights and fair labour commitments.
Monitor ongoing relationships through regular reviews and clear communication.
We review suppliers based on compliance performance and ethical standards.
Policies Supporting Ethical Practice
We operate several internal policies that support our stance against modern slavery:
Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy — outlines our zero-tolerance approach and reporting process.
Whistleblowing Policy — allows employees and partners to report concerns without fear of retaliation.
Ethical Sourcing Policy — ensures responsible procurement and transparency in supply chains.
These policies help maintain ethical standards throughout our operations.
Training and Awareness
We train staff involved in procurement and supplier management to:
Recognise signs of modern slavery.
Understand policies and reporting procedures.
Communicate ethical expectations to suppliers.
Training helps us maintain vigilance and compliance across roles.
Monitoring and Performance Indicators
We track progress and effectiveness through:
The number of supplier audits and risk assessments completed.
Reports and incidents identified through whistleblowing channels.
The number of suppliers who sign our Code of Conduct.
To date, no cases of modern slavery or human trafficking have been identified in our operations or supply chain.
Looking Ahead
In 2025 and beyond, we aim to:
Strengthen supplier compliance monitoring.
Expand training to include external partners.
Work with third-party verification bodies for deeper supplier audits.
We will continue to improve our processes and enhance transparency.
